Our goal at Alaska Center for the Martial Arts is simple: to promote good health, self-defense and strong character through traditional martial arts training.
We believe that training in martial arts is a transformative experience that improves a person physically, mentally, and emotionally. All of our instructors experienced this for themselves and strive to pass it on to their students.
What We Offer
Here are just a few of the great features that we offer:
Certified Instructors - We are certified or endorsed through international organizations in every art we offer. These organizations ensure that we maintain the traditions and standards of our arts to their satisfactions. Additionally, we have the experience of numerous mentors and instructors to draw on through our organizations.
Flexible Schedule - As a full-time school with our own building, we have an extensive schedule that offers flexibility in choice of classes and times. We strive to keep disruption to our schedule to a minimum.
Great Location - Our school is a stand-alone building with its own parking lot. We rigorously maintain our school with daily cleanings, ensuring a pleasant environment for our students and spectators. For more about our building, including pictures, please click here.
World-Class Seminars - We've proudly hosted many world-class seminars with martial artists like Carlson Gracie Junior, Julio Toribio, and Hung Tran.
Community Events - We're not just a school--we're a community. We often have special events for our students, ranging from game days to movie nights.
